2020 Theme:
The global spread of COVID-19 has been changing the world in significant ways. The outbreak led to the stay-at-home order in many parts of the world perhaps left people with feelings of being a part of movies or films which might triggered artistic creativities for some. If that’s you, we want to invite you to discover your talent, write your own short film screenplay that envisions a world in COVID-19 outbreak and use the pandemic as an inspiration to make your own COVID-19 themed short films. The story telling can be inspired by the experiences in love, family, friendship, depression, illness, spiritual, business, and social justice etc. Or simply write your story about what have changed and have you learned from this pandemic, how have you changed people’s lives, what motivated you to stay positive and find joy among the angst and isolations etc.
Timeline: Sept 17,2020-Entry open > Jan 31,2021-Entry Deadline > Feb 15, 2021-Finalists (Nominees)Announcement > Mar 01.2021-Winner Announcement
Candidates: The Athena Art Award is open to people from all around the world, regardless of age, gender, language, ethnicity, nationality, and region.
Entry Fees: $25 – Only entries with completed entry forms and entry fee will be accepted. At the same time, applicants who have submitted through our partners, can apply for the charity grant (provided by the sponsors) to obtain fee reductions. There is no refund of entry fees.
Selection: The first round of selection will be nominated to the Athena Art Award finalists. After second round of selection by jury committee, Athena Art Award– Best Short Original Screenplay winners (1) and the Best Short Original Screenplay Nomination Award (4) will be announced.
Prizes: The Best Short Original Screenplay winner will receive a license fee of $1000 cash award, Award certificate & Trophy, and the screenplay will be produced by Athena Culture Education Foundation as nonprofit short film.
